Avsallar has one of the finest beaches on this coast: the pale, fine sand of İncekum and the gently shelving water make it a favourite with families who have small children. Behind the beach lies a pine forest that provides shade and pleasant air in the summer heat.
In recent years the largest, most resort-like developments have been built here: gated complexes of several buildings with pools, gyms, their own gardens and security. Prices are friendly relative to size and facilities, because the distance from the city centre is noticeable.
If you come mainly to relax and value quiet, the beach and generous communal spaces, the value here is excellent. For daily life, though, a car is worth keeping.
